About

Young golfer Alison Lee had a rookie season to remember in 2015. The 20-year-old made the cut in 19 of the 23 events she entered, earning $628,676.

She also achieved a career-best finish of third at the Kingsmill Championship.

Lee took up golf at the tender age of six, with the youngster crediting her dad as the individual who influenced her career the most.

In an interview with Lady Golfer magazine in January, she said: “I was four or five when I first went to the course with my dad. He was and is a golf fanatic. When I went to the range I was such a little princess who would run around the green with the club in the air rather than hitting a ball. In the end he bribed me to get me to practise, he said if I focused and concentrated then we could go to Disneyland next weekend.”

She clinched the 2014 PAC-12 Freshman and Player of the Year award. Lee also competed in the 2014 Curtis Cup and had an impressive 3-1-1 record.

Meet Suzann Pettersen

She turned pro in December 2014 and is now competing on the LPGA Tour after graduating through Q School. However, she is continuing her studies at UCLA.

Lee competed on the USA’s victorious Solheim Cup team last year, and had a 1-3-0 record.

Meet Stacy Lewis

She was famously involved in the putting controversy with Europe’s Suzann Pettersen when Lee believed she had been granted a gimme.

She said: “I still get questions literally every day about the putt controversy. It does get tiring as it’s been a while and I have to explain the same story again and again. But I guess that it’s going to be like that for a while.”
