After the triumph of our first This Girl Golfs event at The Mere, Cheshire, we thought it only fair that our next event was in the south of England. So, on what was one of the hottest days of the year, a group of ladies arrived at stunning Mannings Heath for a day of championship golf, pampering, fashion, fitness, freebies and food!

After registering and receiving one of our amazing goody bags, the competitors enjoyed a lavish breakfast spread in the gorgeous Lattila Campbell Room. Then it was time for a short talk and product testing with Louise from Par Skincare before Linda from The Intelligent Core led the ladies in a mini pilates session.

The pilates bug seemed to have caught on as several women stayed behind to ask questions after the session. From there we all ventured out to the range for a quick  warm up session with the lovely Darren from Yonex.

TGG - YonexThe 18-hole individual stableford shotgun commenced at 11.30. It was quite a task to get everyone out on to the mammoth golf course, but thanks to the excellent marshals and pro shop staff we managed it.

With the sun shining, our two afternoon tea stations stocked with Harrogate Spring Water were not only much appreciated but essential!.

TGG - Putting CompAfter all the fun and laughter on the course, the ladies had chance for a quick freshen up before our wine-tasting event with Benguela Cove began on the beautiful terrace. Again this seemed a very popular addition, and while the ladies relaxed into the evening entertainment, Tracey from Techniblock gave a talk on how to look after your skin in the sun – very apt on the hottest day of the year.

After the golf, the Röhnisch fashion show was the main entertainment of the day. Marie from Röhnisch, who had flown in from Sweden especially for the event, just had time to introduce the fashion show before leaving for the airport.

She also gave an eye-opening talk on the importance of wearing sports bras when playing golf – who knew that your breasts moved so much during a round! The fashion show was a huge success. It perfectly showcased the fabulous Röhnisch winter collection and it also had a few summer bargains thrown in as well.

Röhnisch cater for all shapes and sizes and their collections could be bought, ordered or tried on in the This Girl Golfs boutique, which was set up especially for the day. We then moved upstairs for the finale: a two-course evening dinner, followed by the prize presentations and a question and answer session with up-and-coming Ladies European Tour star Georgia Hall.

The prize table was worth an incredible £3,000. First prize was a Golfbreaks holiday for two in Spain with three rounds of golf. Second was a Golf Buddy LD2 GPS watch and two Hilton Gold Cards. Third was a Golf Buddy LD2 GPS watch and one Hilton Gold Card, while fourth prize was a Hilton Gold Card and a case of Benguela Cove wine.

TGG - Prize TableThere was also a beautiful Etiqus watch from the Sport Lady Collection for nearest the pin on the signature Waterfall hole, a Yonex hybrid for nearest the pin on the 5th, and a Golf Buddy LD2 GPS watch for closest to the line on the 16th.

Golf Buddy kindly agreed to double the prize of the 19th-hole putting competition, after two ladies miraculously managed to hole the 40-foot swinging putt. Then, as we sat down to enjoy our delicious food, we showed a video that was captured throughout the day.

This proved to be very popular and it had everyone jumping to their feet to catch a glimpse of it. After we’d eaten it was time for Georgia to present the prizes to the lucky ladies, and then for our informal question and answer session. I think the ladies were taken with the softly spoken, honest Georgia, who gave a fantastic insight to life on and off the Ladies European Tour.

We wish Georgia all the very best for the rest of the 2016 season and you can follow her progress through her blog on lady-golfer.com. The This Girl Golfs team couldn’t be happier with how the day unfolded – we had glorious sunshine, amazing sponsors and fabulous competitors.
