While in Orlando for the recent PGA Show, NCG visited former LET and LPGA pro Charlotta Sorenstam at her sister’s former academy at Reunion Resort to ask her how she hits the ball high..

With the high shot I try and place the ball a little further forward in my stance meaning you’ll have a little less of a steep angle of attack.

I do think it’s quite hard to do because you still want to hit the ball cleanly without topping the ball but if you stay with your setup you can do it.

The Pro James Whitaker then asks Charlotta if there is anything you should stay away from when trying to execute this shot.

Finishing low and trying to swing too far up after impact, you could catch it thin when you do these things. Ata very centered and follow your normal movement.

Who is Charlotta Sorenstam?

Sorenstam is a Swedish professional golfer and sister of Hall of Fame golfer Annika. She was born in 1973 in Stockholm and, after a successful amateur career, turned professional in 1994. She played on the LET in 1995 and 1996.

At the end of the 1996 season Charlotta finished second at the LPGA Tour final qualifying to earn exempt status for 1997. With this exemption, she moved to the United States to play on the LPGA Tour whilst occasionally playing some European Tour events.

She won once on the LPGA Tour, at the 2000 Standard Register Ping tournament. Her best finish in Europe was second, which she achieved several times.

Sorenstam represented Europe in the Solheim Cup in 1998 and served as non-playing European captain for the European girls’ team in the Junior Solheim Cup in 2005.
