As the first major of the year is here we have looked at our favourite jumps since Amy Alcott started the tradition in 1988. We couldn’t pick a winner so here they are.

Do you have a favourite?

1. Amy Alcott (1988)

LPGA major winner started the tradition of jumping into the pond when she won the Nabisco Dinah Shore for the 2nd time in 1988.

2. Annika Sorenstam (2001)

A little helping hand (push) into the pond results in an almost belly flop

3. Karrie Webb (2006)

In true pond jump style Webb goes for a classic cannonball after her second victory

4. Patricia Meunier le Bouc (2003)

It looks like it’s going to be so graceful… until the stumble into the water

5. Yani Tseng (2010)

After a false start Yani and her team have normal jumps in, but look for her caddy doing an Olympic standard dive into the pond.

6. Lorena Ochoa (2008)

The whole family were involved for her celebration jump, however someone doesn’t look to convinced to take the leap.

7. Notable Caddie Mention (2012)

Sun Young Yoo’s caddie goes for a parachute jumpers pose.
