Inbee Park sent the world of women’s golf a clear message that she wants her World Number One ranking back after her win at the HSBC Women’s Champions in Singapore.

The South Korean with her first win of the season, and LPGA Tour win No 13, shot a two-under 70 to finish at 15-under.

Inbee, who did not drop a single shot all week, said: “I played another solid day today. I played really good out there.

“Being patient out there and no bogeys out there is a really great result.”

The South Korean, determined to regain her World Number One ranking, said: “I want it, I just know I want it, but I’m just not going to push myself too hard to get something.

“It’s something that if you push for, it’s just hard to get.

“Just a couple of wins and playing great golf, and it’s going to come, so I’m just going to not rush anything and just play good golf.

Current World Number One, Ko, finished at 13-under with Stacy Lewis a further two shots back in third position at 11-under.

“She played great all week,” Ko said of Inbee. “No bogeys around here and on a course where you can hit a good shot and you can get bad luck.

“That’s pretty phenomenal.”
