Leading retailer American Golf is offering hundreds of free golf taster sessions across the country this month to encourage more women to try out the game.

The company is teaming up with Sport England’s ‘This Girl Can’ campaign throughout National Golf Month to help increase participation, providing women the chance to go to an American Golf store with their friends and try the game out in a relaxed environment.

Head of marketing at American Golf, Dan Gathercole, said: “Picking up a golf club for the first time can be a daunting experience, so we’re offering girls and women the chance to come in store with their friends and get a taste for the game in a relaxed environment with our PGA professionals.

“Working with the team at This Girl Can has given us the chance to reach women who might never have even thought about golf and with the opportunities on offer for National Golf Month I hope we can help inspire the next generation of women golfers.”

In conjunction with ‘This Girl Can’, the retailer has also put together an introduction to golf page on its website that aims to make trying out golf easier.
