Blog: Growing the game with National Golf Month
Welcome to the latest issue of England Golf Women’s News. The season is almost upon us and I do hope you will have great enjoyment from your golf in 2015.
This will be a very important year for England Golf. Last summer we launched our strategy, Raising Our Game, to create a brighter future for golf. Now it’s time to work together to turn words into action and to really make a big difference.
One of our ambitions is to inspire many more women to play golf and become club members. We’re working hard with clubs to show that golf is the perfect game for anyone who wants to make friends, have fun and enjoy a healthy activity, and you can read more about this in the magazine.
We’re hearing some real success stories from around the country, such as the rapid growth of Ladies Love Golf, a women’s golfing community launched at the 3 Hammers complex in Staffordshire.
This is a great time of year for everyone who loves golf to spread that message. Meanwhile, in Essex there’s a fantastic project: Girls Golf Rocks is led by members of the county girls’ squad who want to share their pleasure in the game with other girls.
This is a great time of year for everyone who loves golf to spread that message.
National Golf Month takes place in May and will highlight thousands of opportunities, while our own campaign, Get into golf, runs all year round offering great value coaching with PGA professionals. Visit www.getintogolf.org to find out more.
Have you got a friend who’d like to play? Why not invite them to have a go?
Our research tells us that women are much more likely to try golf if they do it with friends.
We also know that they appreciate seeing a friendly, welcoming face when they arrive at a golf club. By working together we really can make that difference and grow the game.
