Amateur golfers often struggle to utilise their fairway woods and will more often than not find it impossible  to strike them consistently well.

Making sure you know the correct way to approach this shots will help you on the path to breaking 90.

Sophie Walker talks us through the common mistakes she sees when players are trying to hit a fairway wood and how you can eradicate them.

The most important thing to remember when playing your fairway woods or hybrids is that there is at least 15-17 degrees of loft on them.

So we don’t need to try and lift the ball into the air and add loft…we already have loft.

So what I see most commonly is that golfers are trying to get the ball into the air. What I want you to do is drive through the ball more.
