Golf style: Adidas Adicross V shoe review
We’re all familiar with Adidas. Whether it was Adidas popper trouser craze of the 90s’, the super-popular Gazelle trainers, or supermodel Karlie Kloss’ workout range, we’ve all been taken in by the distinctive three-striped brand at some point.
But this doesn’t mean that their Adicross V shoes are simply just another fashion statement.
First impressions
I loved the look of these shoes in the photos, and in real life they didn’t disappoint. I went for the pink and white pair, and if anything the pink is brighter, with more of a coral tint than it appeared online.
These are stylish shoes, that at first glance don’t look like they are obviously meant for golf. Which is great when you’re looking for a pair that are also acceptable to wear off the course.
The size 7 was average sized and fit comfortably. However, as they are quite narrow fitting those with wider feet might find them a little tight.
Feel and fit
You don’t want to fork out for a new pair of golf shoes just to be left crippled by evil blisters, or on the other extreme, end up with practical, comfy shoes that are so garish and awful that you’re embarrassed to be seen in them.
These shoes are a nice balance between pretty and practical. They look so nice that you’ll desperately want to avoid getting them muddy. But they were still impressively waterproof when worn out in the rain, and I wasn’t left with soggy feet.
They were so comfortable straight out of the box and didn’t rub at all
The sole gives you a good grip on the green, however it’s subtle enough that you can still wear them anywhere.
With a fashionable, classic Adidas design they are great to wear in the club house, out shopping, for lunch, or pretty much anywhere.
The technical stuff
The clever features that make these so comfortable:
- Climastorm provides breathable, water-repellent protection to keep you dry and comfortable.
- Microfibre synthetic leather and textile outer layer for comfort, breathability and a soft feel.
- Cloudfoam sockliner for lasting comfort and lightweight cushioning with every step.
- Highly-flexible adiwear™ spikeless outsole with puremotion® features 72 strategically-placed lugs for green-friendliness and optimal grip.
Verdict
These are really comfortable, lovely-looking shoes that are perfect for a golfer who wants a pair of shoes that work on and off the course.
These are perhaps not the best on the market for very wet and slippery conditions, but for summer (which will hopefully be dry and sunny) these are perfect.
The hardest part is just choosing whether you want them in blue, grey or pink.
