LAURA’S GINGER NUTS
Makes 32 biscuits
Ingredients
■ 8oz self-raising flour
■ 2 tsp ground ginger
■ 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
■ 3oz granulated sugar
■ 4oz margarine
■ 4 tbsp golden syrup
Method
■ Rub the margarine and sifted flour together in a large bowl.
■ Sift in the ginger and bicarbonate of soda and mix well together.
■ Add the golden syrup and mix together until the mixture forms a firm ball.
■ Roll the mixture into balls the size of a large marbles and place on a greased baking tray.
■ Put the balls into a pre-heated oven at 190°C and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges of the biscuits turn dark brown.
