“I lost in a play-off for my Tour card in 2012, but still played around 75 per cent of the tournaments that year. This year I’ve been able to get into every event, including going out to Australia at the start of the year which was great.

“I had front and back open heart surgery when I was younger to combat a serious heart condition, so I do have a different posture to a lot of golfers and my shoulder biomechanics are unique.

“I have definitely improved on where I was last year and have grown as an individual as well as a golfer.

“It can be quite hectic getting from place to place and you have to be quite good at being a travel agent. It’s different for the ladies’ tour compared to the men’s because we have to do a lot of our own planning.

“My main goal is to play on the LPGA. I wouldn’t say I’m that far away, but I think if you’re on the LET then you have to be ranked inside the top 10 to be able to compete in the USA.

“The Solheim Cup was huge. I was staying up until 2am every night watching it! I know the girls from the European Tour and I grew up with Jodi Ewart Shadoff so it was exciting to have that connection to the players and see them do so well.”

Hannah Burke has completed her maiden year on the LET following a highly successful amateur career representing both England and Baylor University.
