Mirim Lee conquered the strongest ever field at the Kia Classic to lift the trophy with a tournament matching record score -20 and 6 shots clear of the rest of the field.

With all of the top 100 ranked players competing Lee had to produce her best and 7 birdies in the final round was what she needed.

It wasn’t the first time Lee had ben in contention of this tournament. In 2015 she lead going into the final day but on this occasion Kerr overtook her and finished the event at -20.

This was the perfect place to win her 3rd LPGA title

What Lee Said (via translator): “It’s been a long time to be winner of the tournament, so I kind of nervous before I start of game. But I try to focus and then gives me good result”

When talking about being in contention in 2015 Lee said “At that time I did not think I loser, I just thought I didn’t play very well at that time. So today I just try to not think about it”
