About
Norwegian veteran golfer Suzann Pettersen is one of the star names on the LPGA and Ladies European Tour.

Like many top golfers, Pettersen was encouraged by her family at an early age to take up sport. She played many different sports and competed in her first golf tournament at the tender age of six, with the youngster quickly realising that golf was her main passion.

Pettersen’s golf career surged when she broke onto the amateur scene. She won the Norwegian Championship five times, back-to-back between 1996 and 2000. She represented Norway in the World Amateur Team Championship in 1998 and 2000, becoming World Amateur champion in her second showing. She also represented Europe in the Junior Ryder Cup in both 1997 and 1999.

Having turned professional at just 19, the current world No.12 had a rookie season to remember in 2001. She won the French Open, finished second on the Order of Merit and was named the Ladies European Tour Rookie of the Year.

The 34-year-old’s LPGA career is also a huge success story. Between 2004 and 2012 she played in 189 tournaments and made the cut in 171 of them.

She was crowned a Major champion in 2007 when she won the Women’s PGA Championship and she landed her double in 2013 by clinching the Evian Championship.
