Playing in the shadow of the iconic Los Angeles Hollywood sign, this weekend’s LA Open wasn’t short on drama.

Moriya Jutanugarn achieved her first win in her 156th start on tour, finishing two-strokes ahead of the formidable Inbee Park and Jin Young Ko.

This meant that the 23 year old could finally join her younger sister Ariya in the winner’s circle, who as the first Thai player to win a major, already has six victories to her name.

The only other siblings to both win on the LPGA Tour are legendary players Annika and Charlotta Sorenstam.

Finishing with a final score of 12-under-par, Moriya shared an emotional hug with her sister as her mother watched on proudly.

Meanwhile, the Ladies European Tour returned to Morocco for the Lalla Meryem Cup in Rabat.

Here Sweden’s Jenny Haglund made a birdie on the second play-off hole to gain her first win on tour.

Czech player and defending champion Klara Spilkova and Australia’s Sarah Kemp narrowly missed out on the title and tied for second position at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.
