CARLOTA CIGANDA (SPA)

Record: P4 W1 H2 L1

Sat out the first session and thereafter was an ebullient presence, partnering Reid to a half in the best match of the week in the Friday fourballs. Also halved with Thompson in the top singles to cap a fine week for the Spaniard. 8/10

SANDRA GAL (GER)

Record: P4 W2 H1 L1

Only a singles thrashing from Creamer spoiled her overall record. Partnered Matthew to two foursomes wins and earned Europe a point in the Friday fourballs when she hit her approach to the final green to a couple of feet. 8/10

CAROLINE HEDWALL (SWE)

Record: P4 W1 H0 L3

Sadly a shadow of herself compared to Colorado last time out when she won five points out of five. Despite winning her first game alongside Nordqvist she never looked at ease. Played at least one match too many. 3/10

CHARLEY HULL (ENG)

Record: P5 W4 H0 L1

Brilliant throughout in combination with Reid, Nocera and then Pettersen. Her singles display may well have been affected by ’gimme-gate’ but it must be said that Cristie Kerr threw dozens of birdies at her in the singles. 9/10

KARINE ICHER (FRA)

Record: P3 W2 H0 L1

On Saturday lunchtime, Icher’s record read played one, lost one. It was a surprise, therefore, that a hitherto peripheral figure finished the week with two points and was one of only three Europeans to win their singles. 7/10

CAROLINE MASSON (GER)

Record: P3 W0 H1 L2

Masson was competitive throughout without ever quite convincing. Her half point owed much to her compatriot Gal and she could have saved the day in the singles only to miss from 12 feet for a half on the final green. 4/10

CATRIONA MATTHEW (SCO)

Record: P4 W3 H0 L1

Serenely cruised around St Leon Rot for the first two days, winning three games out of three. The only surprise was that she played averagely on the final day to allow Pressel to get the better of her in the singles. 8.5/10

Nine factors that shaped the Solheim Cup

AZAHARA MUNOZ (SPA)

Record: P3 W0 H0 L3

A miserable week for the Spaniard. From being sent out in the opening session she had to wait until Saturday afternoon for another chance. Both were unsucessful and losing to Salas in the singles capped off a poor showing. 3/10

23176|c:520x330.img

GWLADYS NOCERA (FRA)

Record: P2 W1 H0 L1

Had just one outing before the singles. You would think she was a strong foursomes partner but appeared in neither series. Won a point alongside Hull but her week ended in ignominy with a shank into water on the 17th. 5/10

23175|c:520x330.img

ANNA NORDQVIST (SWE)

Record: P4 W2 H0 L2

Not a record that does her justice. Nordqvist was often immense and let down by her foursomes partners. It was no surprise when she won her singles and Europe ought to have found a way to get another point from her. 8.5/10

SUZANN PETTERSEN (NOR)

Record: P4 W2 H0 L2

Will never be allowed to forget what the Americans considered an unsporting act. She was poor on the first morning but excellent on the second day and it took a special finish from Stanford to deny her a singles point. 6/10

MELISSA REID (ENG)

Record: P4 W3 H1 L0

A quite remarkable effort from the English woman returning to the scene of mother Joy’s fatal car crash. She led the way, forming dynamic partnerships with Hull and Ciganda and bagging a singles point for good measure. 9.5/10
