Braving the blustery October day, the ladies competed in an 18-hole individual Stableford tournament on the PGA National course.

As our #ThisGirlGolfs days are designed to celebrate every element of ladies’ golf, the day also included some extra lifestyle activities.

This included a fashion show and pop-up shop from the Swedish sportswear brand Röhnisch, some pre-round pampering at the spa nail bar and a pop-up shop from Clogau jewellery.

The pre-round activities included a Titleist club and ball fitting, a putting clinic and competition with PGA pro Nicky Lawrenson and a FootJoy shoe fitting experience. Out on the course there was also a nearest the pin competition and refreshments served on the 1st tee.

The prizes included a holiday for two at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club in Spain, an Etiqus watch, Clogau gold jewellery and FootJoy MyJoy vouchers. Everyone who played also received a goody bag worth £85.

Among the guests was Ladies European Tour player Charlotte Ellis, who spent the day hitting drives and taking part in a question-and-answer session. This gave the women the opportunity to quiz her about what life is like as a professional golfer.

Former Ladies European Tour pro Georgina Simpson, who hosts the #ThisGirlGolfs days, said: “Holding our last #ThisGirlGolfs event of the year at one of England’s premium golf resorts was very fitting and the 60 ladies that attended took advantage of every aspect of the facilities.

“Having FootJoy and Titleist support the event for the first time was fantastic and it gave the ladies a great insight into the detailed club, ball and shoe information that is available to them.

“The exclusive Röhnisch fashion show, afternoon tea and nail bar experience all proved to be very popular.

“It was great to see several ladies with a high handicap playing in the event.

“After all, the #ThisGirlGolfs campaign was designed to encourage more ladies into this great game.  We look forward to welcoming more ladies to our six events that will be held across the county next year.”

Brickhampton Court member Carole Lloyd, who attended the event at The Belfry said:  “I had a wonderful day. I thoroughly enjoyed it and met some lovely ladies. The weather was kind to us for the time of year, albeit a bit on the chilly side!

“Thank you so much for organising the day and giving us ladies the chance to play on a wonderful but challenging course. I now can’t wait for next year’s #ThisGirlGolfs events.”

Our 2018 #ThisGirlGolfs calendar of events will be announced soon. Keep an eye on lady-golfer.com
