Making the most of the beautiful September day, the ladies competed in an 18-hole individual Stableford tournament on the picturesque course at Mottram Hall.

As our #ThisGirlGolfs days are designed to celebrate every element of ladies’ golf, the day also included some extra lifestyle activities.

This included a fashion show and pop-up shop from the Swedish sportswear brand Röhnisch, some pre-round pampering at the spa nail bar and a pop-up shop from Clogau jewellery.

Out on the course there was also a pilates warm up, nearest the pin, putting and longest drive competitions and plenty of food and drink, including unlimited coffee from Gaggia.

The prizes included a holiday for two at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club in Spain, an Etiqus watch, Clogau gold jewellery, FootJoy MyJoy vouchers and a stay at Mottram Hall, which is one of the finest hotels in Cheshire. Everyone who played also received a goody bag worth £85.

Among the guests was Ladies European Tour player Charlotte Ellis, who spent the day hitting drives and taking part in a question-and-answer session. This gave the women the opportunity to quiz her about what life is like as a professional golfer.

Robert Warrener, Head of Golf at Mottram Hall, said: “Mottram Hall are delighted to have hosted the #ThisGirlGolfs event. We will be focusing on growing our ladies’ section as we go into 2018, so this was the perfect opportunity to show off Mottram Hall and all the facilities we have to offer, both in terms of the golf and as a resort. To say we couldn’t be more delighted with the outcome is an understatement. We had perfect weather and it was great to see so many ladies participating. All the feedback we have received has been nothing but excellent and we are certainly looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Mottram Hall in 2018.”

Former Ladies European Tour pro Georgina Simpson, who hosts the #ThisGirlGolfs days, said: “The recent event at Mottram Hall was the best #ThisGirlGolfs event yet! Having some amazing female brands sponsor and support us helped make the day extremely memorable for everyone involved.  Mottram Hall itself was stunning in the late summer sunshine and it stood out as a brilliant, female-friendly venue. The wonderful facilities and attention to detail at this magnificent venue made all the guests feel very special. I was delighted to see so many smiling faces throughout the day, and it made all the organising and hard work that went into this event seem very worthwhile. We will definitely be returning to Mottram Hall, so please look out for news on next year’s event.’

Styal member Olivia Brewster, who attended her second #ThisGirlGolfs event at Mottram Hall, said: “I had a fabulous day and I think the #ThisGirlGolfs events are fantastic. They’re a great opportunity for lady golfers to meet other lady golfers and play a great course. The Röhnisch stand had some amazing offers and the nail bar was also a great idea. We got to have some fun and do some putting and chipping practice, and there were also some great prizes to be won.’

If you would like to experience a day of fun and meet like-minded women, we have another #ThisGirlGolfs event at The Belfry, in Warwickshire, on October 3.
