Ping launch new G Le 2 range
Equipment editor Hannah Holden takes a first look at the new Ping G Le 2 ladies range designed to increase distance
Today Ping has unveiled its new G Le 2 ladies’ range. The Ping G Le 2 range replaces the previous Ping G Le range which was released in 2017.
The G Le 2 range is designed to be lighter than its predecessor. Across the range the clubs are faster with more flexible faces for increased distance.
Ping G Le 2 range: G Le 2 driver
As well as being lighter than the G Le it offers up to 5% higher MOI (moment of inertia) for increased distance and forgiveness.
The driver is designed to provide more clubhead speed with the introduction of a A thinner T9S+ face which increases ball speed.
A rounder, 460cc head features turbulators and is aerodynamically shaped for speed. Heel-based weighting helps provide straighter ball flights. There is also a 8-lobe hosel to provide different lofts and lie angles.
SRP: £389
Ping G Le 2 range: G Le 2 fairways
Offering 8.5% higher MOI than its predecessor, the G Le 2 fairways are forgiving and fast.
The C300 maraging steel face increases ball speed up to 2mph, while the face is also shallower for easy launch.
Lofts: 19°, 22°,26°, 30°
SRP: £240
Ping G Le 2 range: G Le 2 hybrids and irons
Positioned together, the G Le 2 hybrids and irons are lighter than G Le to produce greater distance. The hybrids are available in 4, 5, 6 and 7 to remove the need for long irons.
The hybrids offer 6% higher MOI than the previous range, while a Carpenter 455 steel face is 15% thinner to increase ball speed by 1mph.
The irons have 10% higher MOI, plus a co-moulded cavity badge and Cor-Eye technology for faster face flexing, greater distance and increased height on shots. Complementing the hybrids, the G Le 2 irons are available in 6-9, plus PW, UW and SW.
Lofts: 22°, 26°, 30°, 34°
Irons: 6-9, PW, UW, SW
SRP: £126/£179 (individual hybrids)
Ping G Le 2 range: G Le 2 putters
A Dual-Durometer Insert provides a soft layer for precision and a firm layer for control, without sacrificing ball speed.
A milled 6061 aluminium head in the bold and vibrant Garnet colour story, which is complemented by a stainless steel soleplate.
Models: Anser, Shea and Echo
Length: Adjustable from 31” to 35”
SRP: £200/£260 (Ecco)
