Equipment editor Hannah Holden checks out the Solheim Cup European team shoe which has been unveiled by Skechers ahead of the 2019 match at Gleneagles

As footwear sponsor of the Solheim Cup European team, Skechers have revealed the shoe design that will be worn exclusively by the Solheim players named in yesterday’s team announcement at Gleneagles.

So what is the Solheim Cup European team shoe?

The official Solheim Cup European team shoe is the Skechers Go Golf Pro 2 style. The unique colourway of the women’s shoe features the official Solheim tartan in the European team colours.

The shoe design is really smart and stylish, and I know the players will love the Scottish flare. Comfortable footwear is vital when playing golf, and this is something I’m happy leaving in the capable hands of Skechers.

– European Solheim Cup Director, Polly Clark.

The Skechers Go Golf Pro 2 features a low-profile and full contact outsole for unparalleled traction in all conditions. The diamond-design traction plate outsole is designed to ensure maximum grip and is coupled with spikes that are replaceable using Softspikes Stealth Pin system.

The shoe is waterproof and has synthetic leather uppers and every pair contains lightweight ultra go and goga max cushioning for total comfort throughout the time spent on the course.

We are delighted to be the exclusive footwear sponsor for the European Solheim Cup Team. The Skechers Go Golf Pro 2 is ideal for whatever terrain and weather the players will face in September. And we’re proud to have a design that embraces Gleneagles and this event.

– Peter Youell, managing director of Skechers U.K. and Ireland.

The European caddies, coaches and officials will also be wearing Skechers footwear at Gleneagles.

The roster of elite golfers wearing Skechers Go Golf on tour includes Colin Montgomerie, Russell Knox, Matt Kuchar, Brooke Henderson, Wesley Bryan, and Billy Andrade.
